Supporting National Careers Week

National Careers Week is from 4-8 March and, as a leading authority on careers and employability services in the UK, we are fully supporting the campaign with a range of activities and events during the week.

National Careers Week is a celebration of the value of high-quality careers guidance in the UK and our experience and expertise ranges from consulting on careers education advice and guidance policy at government level to training a highly skilled careers adviser workforce and delivering impartial careers information, advice and guidance (IAG) in a wide variety of settings.

A national authority on careers

Laura Bell, Director of Careers at Education Development Trust has been invited to attend the House of Commons this week to contribute to the ongoing debate around careers guidance, drawing on her experience as a leading careers practitioner and current President of the Career Development Institute.

Our team of careers experts will be attending the National Careers Guidance Show in Leeds on 7 March and would be delighted to speak to visitors about their careers guidance requirements. The event also offers free CPD to careers advisers, learning and development managers, teachers and practitioners working across all sectors.

Bridging the policy-practice gap

Committed, as ever, to engaging with the careers agenda at a national level and bridging the policy-practice gap, on Friday our careers team are hosting a visit by an MP – one of a series of visits to raise awareness of the essential work of the National Careers Service.

We will also be  posting updates during the week via our dedicated careers Twitter account @EDTCareersNE. To keep fully up to speed with the week and check out what’s happening nationally, follow the National Careers Week hashtag #NCW2019.
