Specialist PD for early years practitioners
10 June 2019
We are delighted to have been successful in our bid to deliver the Department for Education’s Early Years Professional Development Programme (EYPDP).
The programme will support early years practitioners who work in pre-reception settings attended by more disadvantaged children aged 2-4 in selected local authority areas. The aim of the programme is to improve the quality of practice within settings to ensure that children – now and in future – are better prepared for moving into school, particularly through improved language, literacy and numeracy skills.
Enhancing practice to improve outcomes
‘As an evidence-led organisation, we know that the quality of instruction is one of the fundamental determiners of learner outcomes – this programme goes to the heart of what we believe,’ comments Matt Davis, UK Director at Education Development Trust. ‘We have teamed up with professional development experts, Elklan, and we will be using our extensive delivery experience to ensure that practitioners working with children from the most challenging backgrounds, get specialist support and training to enhance their practice and give these children the best possible start in life.’
A pilot phase will begin later this year and further information will be available over the coming weeks and months. For all enquiries, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
