Our programmes in the UK Page Behaviour Hubs Funded by the Department for Education, the Behaviour Hubs programme is an exciting new initiative founded on the principles outlined in Tom Bennett’s 2017 independent behaviour review, ‘Creating a Culture: How School Leaders Can Optimise Behaviour’. The programme matches ‘Partner’ schools that want and need to improve pupil behaviour with a ‘Lead’ school that has an exemplary track record in behaviour culture. Page Early Career Professional Development Delivered through the Early Career Framework. Investing in early career teachers has never been more important. Following Initial Teacher Training, our Early Career Professional Development Programme offers the essential specialist support needed to improve practice, build confidence and resilience, leading to better job satisfaction and retention. Page Early Years: improving outcomes for disadvantaged children We have worked with the early years sector for several years, reaching many young children across the UK through our programmes. The period from birth to the age of five offers a unique opportunity to ensure children develop the cognitive, social and emotional foundations for success in both school and later life – and high-quality early years provision can significantly benefit children’s later outcomes, especially among disadvantaged groups. Page Future Teaching Scholars Launched in 2016, Future Teaching Scholars provides an exciting new route into teaching, specifically designed for exceptional maths and physics students. It is a comprehensive six-year programme that provides scholars with support and training, access to exclusive resources and events and helps scholars find their first teaching job. Page National Professional Qualifications We know that the quality of teaching is the most important factor in improving pupil outcomes, but we also know that this cannot happen in schools without effective leadership. Great leaders create the right conditions for improvement in the classroom and school. Page School-Led Tutoring Programme The National Tutoring Programme (NTP) supports schools by providing access to high-quality tutoring to help pupils whose education has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The NTP has been expanded for the second year of the programme, offering schools three routes to tutoring: Tuition Partners, Academic Mentors and School-Led Tutoring. School-Led Tutoring has been designed to give schools and academy trusts more flexibility to use those tutors that they determine will best meet the needs of their pupils. Page School-to-school collaboration and professional peer review Education Development Trust has been at the forefront of collaborative school improvement, and our wealth of experience – both in the UK and globally – has shown that really effective school-to-school collaboration takes time and care to develop. Schools need to develop the capabilities to collaborate with purpose and rigour, and to ensure that precious resources are used as efficiently and effectively as possible. Case study The Connected Learning Centre The Connected Learning Centre (CLC) supports schools and other settings in using digital technologies creatively and critically. It provides outstanding curriculum support, technical services and professional development.
