CEO Steve Munby addressed an audience of school leaders from London and beyond at this year's Mayor's Education Conference on 24 February 2017. With the theme What does it take to provide a world class education in London, Steve shared our own extensive findings in this domain as he gave his keynote speech.
'We have done a lot of work to analyse what works in education systems around the world,' explains Steve. 'We carried out an in-depth study of the uniquely successful London Challenge that delivered such extraordinary results in the capital – but we have also looked further afield. I was particularly keen to share our findings from studying five different approaches to urban school reform around the world: New York City, Rio de Janeiro, London, Dubai and Ho Chi Minh City. I am a keen proponent of the self-improving system and leading from the middle; I believe that sharing lessons learnt from studies such as these is fundamental to the betterment of the sector.'
