London CLC recognised for excellence at Bett

25 January 2018

Education Development Trust's award-winning tech hub, London Connected Learning Centre, joined the best of the industry last night as a finalist at the 2018 Bett Awards. Shortlisted in the 'service and support' category, the innovative team in London are delighted to have received this stamp of approval from the industry.

'The service and support category recognises educational organisations that provide effective services, support and professional development to schools ensuring that ICT makes a genuine impact in the classroom,' explains Director Sarah Horrocks. 'This aligns completely to our mission as we provide both technical support and the input to enable educators to make best use of technologies in and beyond the classroom. We are absolutely thrilled to be one of only six shortlisted in this category in recognition not only of the support aspect of our work, but also the creativity and innovation that our team brings to this area.'

A safe Bett

Bett is one of the leading education technology shows in the world and last year, attracted more than 34,000 educators from 131 countries. The event brings together the global education community with the best of the education technology sector and the London CLC team are exhibiting for the first time this year.

What sets London CLC apart from the competition? Sarah continues: 'We have an annual programme of professional development and we support schools in the technical and pedagogical aspects of ICT. Much of our work is with computing subject leaders but we also help all teachers better use technology withing their practice. A growing part of our work is helping schools with online safety; we are an authorised provider of 360Safe support and several of our staff are Online Safety Mark assessors. Ultimately, we provide services and support that schools need and that are effective.'
