Patrick Brazier becomes Chief Executive

07 August 2017

Patrick Brazier has taken over from Steve Munby as Chief Executive of Education Development Trust. Patrick joined Education Development Trust in 2013 as International Director before becoming Education Services Director overseeing programmes in the UK and around the world.

Patrick's career has seen him based around the world – in Uganda, Swaziland, South Africa, Syria, Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates and overseeing programmes in more than 40 other countries – and he worked with the British Council for 23 years before joining Education Development Trust. Patrick is expert in programme leadership and the management of multiple large-scale projects across wide and diverse geographies covering all aspects from strategic planning to financial management and monitoring and evaluation.

'It is a huge privilege to be appointed as Chief Executive,' comments Patrick. 'Over the last four years, I have worked alongside Steve as he has reshaped the organisation and I am really excited to be leading the next chapter.

'We are a unique organisation: a values-led, not-for-profit with a sole focus on education, a longstanding history and an unrivalled catalogue of education research. We work around the world and everything that we do is underpinned by our knowledge of what works in practice – borne out of our experience or proven by our research. Under my leadership, we will continue to work with governments and policymakers to help to ensure that a quality education is available to all.'
