The Future Teaching Scholars Programme

30 January 2016

Education Development Trust is pleased to be delivering the Future Teaching Scholars programme on behalf of the Department for Education.

Successful applicants will be awarded a significant scholarship programme that includes a £15,000 grant whilst they study a maths- or physics-related degree. Also part of the comprehensive programme is a place on an initial teacher training (ITT) course, a pre-ITT course in the summer after they graduate, support in finding their first teaching job, and extensive personal and professional development support for six years based in outstanding Teaching Schools.

Programme Director, Richard Churches, says "This is a superb opportunity for talented maths and physics students who want to share their passion for their subject with future generations. Acceptance on to this prestigious scheme is not only an ideal route into teaching, but also provides access to national and regional events, school-based activities and opportunities to be involved in research to improve maths and physics teaching".
