Education Development Trust Schools make Sunday Times top 100

18 November 2015

The outstanding performance of all three of our indepedendent preparatory schools has seen them rank in the UK's top 100 listing compiled and released by the Sunday Times this week.

It is the second year running that Oakfield School (London), St Andrew's School (Kent), together with Surrey school Danesfield Manor - which made the top 25 - have been included in the prestigious list.

The Sunday Times Top 100 UK prep schools listing is based on academic results at Key STage 2, but is also a reflection of the work parents, carers, pupils and staff put in on a daily basis.

We are delighted that the schools have been acknowledged in this way, and it is juts reward for all the efforts of those involved. Excellent performance on a statistical level is a critical start point in evaluating successful schools, but there are a range of factors that make a school great; from individual attention for all pupils, to excellent and inspirational teaching methods.

We want every child to exceed even their own expectations but we want them to do so by acquiring a confident self-image, a determination to learn and self-discipline, all within a safe and welcoming environment that stimulates them both inside and outside the classroom.

As Danesfield Manor, St Andrew's and Oakfield have shown, all these elements are vital when it comes to motivating children to be excited about learning. Making any list like this one is an extra bonus.
