Making a Difference: Education Development Trust to launch new employability programme

We are delighted to announce that Education Development Trust will be delivering a brand new employability-focussed programme in the Coast to Capital region of England. The Making a Difference Programme is a European Social Fund programme designed to support both unemployed and economically inactive participants, predominantly in the East Surrey and West Sussex areas, to help them progress to job search readiness or move into paid employment.

The programme will be delivered over three years, with the first participants expected to join the programme in October 2020, but recruitment for key roles has already commenced (to find out more, click here). Each participant in the programme will receive support at regular intervals for up to four months, with the frequency of the intervention and the type of activities undertaken to be determined by agreement with their Employment Coach, tailored to their individual needs.

Many participants on the programme will be selected by National Careers Service careers advisers on the basis of how greatly they believe individuals will benefit from the more intensive support offered by the Making a Difference Programme. They will then begin to receive support from their Employment Coach who will continue working them for the duration of the programme.
