Join our event: Education Leadership during COVID-19 and beyond

We are delighted to partner with the Education Commission to host this virtual event to explore 'Education Leadership during COVID-19 and beyond'.

The event, which will take place on the afternoon of 30th September, will bring together leaders, experts and policymakers from across the globe to discuss the key priorities of education leaders in the context of the COVID-19 crisis and school reopening – and we would be delighted for you to join us.

We will be joined by Education Commission Director, Dr Liesbet Steer and Commissioner Teopista Birungi Mayanja, as well as WISE Director of Research and Content Development, Dr Asmaa Al-Fadala.

Education Development Trust’s Research Director, Tony McAleavy, will be leading a panel discussion with:

  • H.E. Dr Tayseer Al-Noiami, Minister of Education, Jordan
  • Dr Irenee Ndayambaje, Director General, Rwanda Education Board
  • Cheryl Ann Fernando, Director, Global School Leaders, Malaysia,
  • Fernando Giménez Zapiola, Academic Director, Varkey Foundation, Argentina

The panel discussions will include emerging international evidence on the changing roles of education leaders during the crisis, as well as promising practices in instructional leadership. We will also be considering new kinds of leadership that are emerging beyond the school level, leadership for equity, and pressing future research agendas.
